Hi Guys
Just wondered if anyone else has had problems with their eyes and in particular bleeding and abnormal veins appearing? Just been to the Eye hospital and they say i have to get laser treatment on both of my eyes. Bit worried to be fair and wondered if anyone else has gone through the same process and if so, how was it?

Hello Gary,
I've had some eye issues but not to the extent you described. Which medication are you on? I'm on Nilotinib (Tasigna) and my eyes look very bloodshot and very glassy. I'm also having issues with eye dryness, which I think is associated with the meds.
I have nothing to offer on the surgery aspect, is the surgery to remove some of the veins and/or stop the bleeding?

Thanks for your reply. I'm on 400mg of Imatinib and have been for 2 1/2 years. The pressure on my optic disc was causing my eyes to go a bit weird and that's how i was diagnosed in 2010. I've had intermittent bleeding over this time and the surgery is to stop it hopefully.

Hi Gary I was dx on 14thdec 2009. ,started imatinib 6th jan 2010. I get puffy eyes in the morning ,and like you intermittent bleeding ,one was so bad it was raised off my eye.just told to let it swayed away.i have had no effect on my sight, been three weeks since last bleed,which happened when i bent over to pick something up. Hope this hop helps you ,let us know how you get on.
