I am having Gleevec now for over 15 years and still responding well
Last yers I have some more side effects like bleeding eyes with is keeping under control with some fluid tear drops.
Also my cholestorol is the last year on a higher level,
Does anywhone knows something about this?

Hi Hennry. I have been on Glivec for 5 years now. Like you I suffer from eye bleeds occasionally, although it’s been a little while now I am pleased to say since the last. They are quite common and a well know side effect on Glivec, they are harmless and for me painless, they just look nasty. Mine generally clear in a week, and I do not use eye drops as some say they can spread the blood round the eye, I don’t think so, but maybe.
Imatinib - Glivec generally reduces cholesterol a little, unlike Nilotinib for example so perhaps this is just a case of natural ageing, but certainly one to get looked at and under control for normal health reasons.
