Long story short: I am a 44 yr old.

Dxd 4/2014 ~86%IS - 4 years into this journey

Started on Tasigna for a while, had to stop due to very low platelet count.

Started low dose Sprycel increasing to 140 mg over time -Reduced PCR to .14  at the lowest point (4/17). Results since then have been rising slowly.

7/2017 - .321 (all IS)

10/2017 - .548

1/2018 - .647 (Started bosulif 500 mg after this test)

4/2018 - 1.409 (bosulif 500 mg)

Getting BMB and BCR/ABL tested again in 10 days.

It has been suggested that I speak with a Dr. about transplant.  I guess I will get the consult done and have things in order if I have to go that route.

What else is there to do?

Generally transplants are the last option.
Only done if all else fails.
Try everything else before you decide to go
this route. They are better at this now, and you are still
in the age range for transplant recovery.
Still,..Try everything else first.

I agree with Scuba on this. Get a mutation analysis done - which requires a bone marrow biopsy (I think, in all cases). No big deal for the procedure, but it may help shine a light on the issue.

At least this way you have looked at all options before transplant.

David.

They did a mutations test on my son and did it through blood test. No biopsy done.

Thanks, that will be done in a week or so with BMB.

Received results yesterday.

BMB was a dry tap unfortunately, but the BCR-ABL test that they ran was .4 (down from 1.4).

Another BCR-ABL was ordered and as long as it checks out OK the plan is to stay the course.
