Increased HB after stopping Dasatinib

Categories:

I was diagnosed in January 2018 had been on Dasatinib 100 mg but had to stop temporarily due to severe GI issues. I haven’t taken Dasatinib for the last two month (without my doctors advice) however I got results of latest CBC today and my Hb has increased to 136. It was 120 at diagnosis and during treatment. Is this a good thing or sign of the disease progression ? All my other blood counts are stable

My PCR three months ago was 0.04

I did a PCR test today so should have results in 3 weeks

What is Hb?  Is it hemoglobin?  If it is, then your result might be normal if your lab uses a different scale than mine.

Here's what my online chart shows:  Lab Test - Hemoglobin determination (HGB), Result - 14 g/dL, Range - 13.5 || 17.0

Dasatinib can be myelosuppression - that means it can lower blood counts.

Your increase in Hb (haemoglobin) is likely down to you coming off dasatinib and is a good thing. You might feel a little more energised?

136 is smack in the middle of the range for females, and just at the lower end of normal for a male.

David.

Yes hameglobin. So if I change to your scale mine will be 13.6

Thanks David for your reply makes me feel a lot better
